Religion:It's not an excuse

"Having a religion is like having a dick. I don't mind if you do, just don't whip it out in public and try to shove it down my children's throat."

Yes, I do consider myself 'Christian/Religious' in some aspect. Yes, I have read the Qur'an, the Holy Bible, and the Book of Mormon. I have yet to find one which says, "We should hate and separate others from us because they are not holy/pure/do not follow the same path as me."
The Qur'an states that all people are children of god, and that they and the Christians follow the same god, just on a different path.
The Book of Mormon, yes, states that they believe their religion to be the best. They never say we should hurt people for disagreeing with that.
As for Christians such as myself, we should note: the Old and New testaments contradict each other. The protestant based religions generally follow the New Testament, where Mormonism and Catholicism draw more from the Old.
As for religions such as the Wiccan faith, Satanism, Judaism, etc.
I have not read the texts, but I am fairly confident they do not tell you to go out and destroy and burn humans.
